The DSA-led international standardization effort for data trading systems (DTS WG) has received the IEEE SA Emerging Technology Award.
The IEEE DTS (Data Trading System) Working Group, chaired by the Secretary General of the Data Society Promotion Association (hereinafter “DSA”), has been selected by the IEEE SA (Standards Association) as the recipient of the 2025 Emergent Technology Award.
IEEE Std 3800-2024, IEEE Standard for a Data-Trading System: Overview, Terminology, and Reference Model, proposed and led by the DTS WG, has been selected for the Emergent Technology Award.
The DTS WG was proposed in 2019 by the predecessor of DSA, the General Incorporated Association Data Trading Alliance. The WG was established in 2020 and published its first deliverable, IEEE 3800-2024, in 2024.
Currently, the group continues developing the Data Trading System: Protocol and Object Framework as IEEE P3800.1.
Since its inception, DTS WG has been chaired by Executive Director Mano, with DSA staff and members serving as Secretary and Technical Editor. Activities progress with the cooperation of participants from Europe, India, and China.
This Emergent Technology Award is presented to individuals, working groups, or companies that have promoted, initiated, or advanced new technologies within the IEEE SA’s open consensus process.
DSA will continue to collaborate with countries worldwide to promote the international standardization necessary for the seamless circulation of data.
